Hosted Services Labels are editable in javascript web apps

I've just published from arcmap to agol and turned on labels from within the map viewer. I then published the basic viewer template app, as well as numerous other templates. When I try to edit a point feature, i do not get the attribute window. Instead I am in edit mode for the features label?!

I can resize the label, change color, move it out of the way and then click on the feature to get the editing popup.

I found this to occur in numerous web app templates.

This includes one created in the webapp Builder (beta). Then I tried basic viewer with a hosted layer published a year ago with similar results. The issue occurred in Chrome, Firefox, and IE. After moving the giant label around it eventually returns to normal, but then I'm unable to click features on the map.

So...anyone run into this?
