I can't get the

"Please sign in to access the item on ArcGIS Online (item)" popup to stop coming up when using the widget in a website. I am passing the clientId and the clientSecret as a serverUrl object in the proxy.config.

I could do a work around and just find the element in the dom and delete it but it seemed inefficient.

Looking more into it, what I really need is the ability to auto-sign on the widget when using it in an external application.

This is one of the many benefits of setting up a proxy. The proxy can store your credentials and auto login for your users.
