topic Service area based on linear (polyline) facilities in ArcGIS Network Analyst Questions

Hi there,

I am trying to determine a service area around an urban cycle network. More precisely, I would like to create a road network-based buffer around the cycle paths. I am using Network Analyst in ArcGIS Pro 2.6.0.

While it is easy to use this feature with point locations (for example: bikesharing stations), I can't figure out how to use it when the facilities are lines.

Maybe the solution is somewhere in this forum, however I did not find it.

Thanks in advance,

Best regards

The service area solver (drive time polygons) start from a point location. If you want to do it for a line, then turn it into a series of points, especially at the junctions of those lines with other lines. Then load all the points as facilities and choose the merge the output polygon option so that a combined polygon is returned.

Jay Sandhu
