topic Invalid Feature Class Type in ArcGIS Network Analyst Questions

Hi,
I'm trying to publish the Locate Features Along Routes tool to ArcGIS Server where it will accept a route generated from Network Analyst as input but I'm having trouble converting the input parameter to a valid ArcGIS Server data type.
I'm following this tutorial here - Tutorial: Publishing a geoprocessing service and in step #14 I change the data type of the Input Route Features parameter from Feature Layer to Feature Set. When I open the tool to set the rest of the parameters there is an error next to Input Route Features - "ERROR 000810 Invalid Feature Class Type". I can't get the model to validate with this error.
I went ahead and published the model anyway and it publishes without errors but when I execute the Submit Job operation from the web interface I find the same error (Invalid Feature Class Type) in the ArcGIS Server logs.
If anybody can point me in the right direction I would really appreciate it.
Thanks!
Jill
