Layers for text labels/highway symbols broken out by type and population size; Transportation sublayers broken out by functional class types; Geographical features on their own sublayers for water, rivers, parks, hospital/medical, universities, etc. – these were a huge part of my workflow and now I do feel like I'm spending a fair bit of time filtering through text halo effects in one giant sublayer to get the linework I need.
