This question doesn't specify which of ESRI's software you are using. it is not located in a Place or Space. Also you don't indicate whether you have tried it. You would be advised to spend some time exploring the resources available to you. If you happen to be using ArcMap, you can access basemaps through the Add Data options tool. If it is listed you can use it.

You cannot use it directly (like you can one of the map services offered from ESRI). You can save an image from Google Earth and georeference it.

I have been using ArcMap since the first beta versions. I use it on a daily basis and have for many years. I am an expert at georeferencing. The question I answered was specifically regarding Google Earth imagery, not other basemap imagery (which I use daily). Often, Google Earth imagery has better resolution and is newer than any of the ESRI/Bing imagery available. That is why I save an image from Google Earth Pro (highest resolution) and bring it into a map and georeference it. We do a lot of work with relatively small projects where we need the latest imagery possible (that does not cost anything). I use Google Earth imagery nearly every day and georeference it to Bing aerials since that works. World Imagery will crash ArcMap if you use the auto registration tool, but Bing does not. I use whatever will give me the best results for the map I am creating.

 Margaret Gooding, GIS/Graphics Dept.

About 6 or 7 years ago I asked Google if, as a paying user of GE Pro, I can use their images as base maps in my commercial projects. They said Yes. Unfortunately, I didn't keep that email. But the lingering doubt remained. So last year I called Google and had another conversation with them. They told me Yes again, but didn't send any confirmation email, as I asked them. I always give credits to Google Earth Pro on my final maps.

And now the Pro is free...

Would be interesting to hear other stories.
