Copy button to duplicate app not working?

Hi all,

I have an app using the Atlas Instant App template. I have it configured to how I want it to look and work, and it is set to use the content from a group. I want to create multiple versions of this app that look and work the same but use content from different groups. I thought I could duplicate the app using the Copy option:

However this just created a brand new app with nothing configured like the original, it is reverted back to the default of the Atlas template. When I try to configure the copy, I get stuck on the loading screen. Is this a bug? And does the copy option create app duplicates?

Would you be willing to try using AGOL Assistant to copy and paste the json from the original app to the copied app. Then you would need to modify json in new app to hit different content.

No guarantees on this workflow, but I think it is worth a try since you would be working on a copy.

Hi @MikeVolz, thanks for the suggestion. I used the AGOL Assistant Copy Item option and it worked perfectly, I now have a duplicate of my app. If anyone else is looking to copy an app this may be the way to go.

@AMatthews can you share what Instant Apps template you were trying to copy? It should copy an exact duplicate of what you have configured.

@BethRomero it is the Atlas Instant App template, I just gave the copy button another go and it created a copy of the app, but did not bring over any of the settings I have configured for it, it just created a blank Atlas template app. I managed to use the AGOL Assistant to create an exact duplicate of my app, which is a good workaround for now, but perhaps the copy issue could be something the Esri team look into? Thanks
