Include copyright on the Export to pdf tool

The Export to pdf tool doesn't include the copyright. Our basemaps are licensed to us by Ordnance Survey, and to display the map without the copyright and our licence number breaks the terms of the agreement. This makes this tool useless to us, but it is a function our users want.

It seems like a massive oversight not to include the copyright information in the Export tool.

Hi Sarah, you might want to jump in on this post as well - until we are able to create and share print templates from within AGOL I doubt you will get the above - crazy as that is... Inc don't have OS copyright issues to think about I guess...

Thanks for pointing out that other Idea. I'm surprised the copyright isn't included in the export as it's not just our UK basemaps that are affected - lots of data comes under licence and should be properly credited.

It is a complete blocker for us though 😞

@SarahNoakes1 you can host your own templates and serve to a REST site for use in apps? I am forced to have a single enterprise server for just print templates to enable corporate logo and copyright - otherwise i would be 100% AGOL Cloud....

hopefully we can host, at a reasonable credit cost on AGOL soon

Thanks for the suggestion @AndyGarwood - I may go down that route for some of our other mapping websites, but this one I am determined to keep as simple as possible - hence using the basic Instant App.

@SarahNoakes1 did you get anywhere with this? I am hitting the same problem - in both AGOL Instant Apps & using 'Map_Only' in Experience Builder, no copyright displays. We also have data we need to acknowledge and a requirement to keep it simple - ie a print template is not what we need.

Hi @HelenWhiteley_tfl - no, we've got nowhere with this. I couldn't even get it logged as a bug, just an enhancement request, which means I can't even escalate it. It's ENH-000171118 - currently in review (since last September) and low priority, so I'm not holding my breath.

The only workaround I have to remain compliant is to add all the copyright texts to the print template in Experience Builder (OS, GetMapping and Landmark). You can see it here https://experience.arcgis.com/experience/a3074c31108a43ada55e21e660bc043d.

Hi @IanWittenmyer ,

It's definitely a start, but unfortunately it still doesn't really do what I need.

The print tool now allows you to enter a default value for the copyright field. But the copyright changes depending on the basemap, so if I include the basemap toggle tool, then I have to include BOTH copyrights, which isn't really correct.

Also, the user can edit the copyright, so they can delete it if they want to.

Finally, the copyright has only been added to the print tool - it still isn't in the Export option of the Share tools.

What I really really want is the copyright to be brought through from the Acknowledgements of the basemap item by default to all the Share tools:
