Option to keep the current map extent when switching sections in the Portfolio Instant App

We are attempting to replace a Map Series StoryMap. The Portfolio app checks a lot of boxes, but one major functionality missing is the option to have your current map extent persist across multiple sections. That is, if you zoom in to an area of interest on one tab or section, then switch to another section, the map would automatically zoom to the same area.

I know this functionality is available in Experience Builder using Map Actions (and we may end up going with ExB on this project for that reason). However, it was a great option in the Map Series template, and I think adding it to Portfolio could expand the use of Portfolio as a replacement for Map Series StoryMaps.

I completely agree. Since Portfolio is commonly recommended as a replacement for the deprecated Map Series configurable app, the ability to “synchronize map locations” is still needed. The existing setting in Map Series has two outcomes 1) initial location of the first map is applied to all maps and 2) navigation by users in any map is reflected in all maps. The first outcome is achieved in Portfolio by toggling the Define location setting on, but the second outcome is still missing and would be a great enhancement. Please consider!

+1 for needing this capability. It was so powerful within Story Maps Classic.
