Layers with disabled popups are still selectable in a mobile map package

After updating and overwriting a mobile map package, I noticed that polygon barriers are now selectable despite having no popups configured. The polygon barrier layer references online content, specifically a hosted view layer.

Is there a setting I've missed somewhere to disable popups for a layer within a mobile map package?

Inside the mobile map package there is an .mmap file. If you open the package in ArcGIS Pro by default, you will have an ArcGIS - Packages folder on your computer. Inside this folder you will see a folder with the name of your package, with additional underscore and id. Inside this folder there will be a p20 folder with the .mmap inside of that. If you look at the .mmap file in a text editor, do you see "disablePopup" : true in the layer definition for your service layer? This is what controls whether the layer will show a popup or not. It's possible indoors is not honoring the setting if it is present. If it is not present, then it is a matter of figuring out why 'disablePopup:true' is not being written into the map. Version of ArcGIS Pro, the workflow steps that are being taken to create the mobile map package, etc...

Hi Mark, thanks for the reply! I'm on ArcGIS Pro 3.4.0.

I see that disablePopup is true for Polygon Barriers within my .mmap file, so Indoors doesn't seem to honor that setting currently. I'll see what I can find about why that might be happening.

Is there an update or any more information about this? We are having the same issue. I have checked the .mmap file and the layer we are having issues with also says "disablePopups: True".

Hello @Shelby_Kline and @MollyE, please provide device make, model and OS version. Also, are you using Indoors (Classic) or Indoors (v2.0).

Also, I would appreciate your comment on the intended end-user experience, especially of some using an app on their mobile device, when there is data visible in the map but with pop-ups disabled. Would it be intuitive to them if they can see certain data but cannot interact with it (info card doesn't appear on tap gesture).

Thanks for your reply. I see this behavior on the following devices, using Indoors Classic:

iPhone 14, iOS 18.5
iPad mini 5th generation, iPadOS 18.6
iPad 10th generation, iPadOS 18.4.1

Our intention is to display construction zones without pop-ups enabled since they are barriers for routes to avoid, rather than destinations.

Similarly, on the iOS devices listed above, our building features should be selectable with pop-ups enabled but they are not.

Hi @GauravJobanputra, appreciate your input on this.

Our situation is similar to @Shelby_Kline's. We have some polygon layers on top of our Units layer that we want to be visible but do not want our users to interact with. One being a construction zone layer and another being a color coded department zone layer. The only layer we want our users to interact with is the Units layer.

We are using the Indoors 2.0 app and it has happened across all types of devices, Android and iOS, on iPhones, Samsung Galaxies and Google Pixels. I'm not sure of all the exact models, those I do know of include a Pixel 8 Pro and Pixel 9 using Android 16 and an iPhone 16 using iOS 18.5.

Hello @Shelby_Kline and @MollyE, thanks for responding with your use cases. This would be an enhancement to the app. We also have a separate enhancement requested for allowing to toggle layer visibility in the new Indoors mobile app but with this particular need, you would like the features to remain visible on the map but just not be able to interact (do not show info card as popup is disabled), right?
