Creating Full motion video with Cell phone

Dear all,

do any of you any experience with making a Full motion video on a Cell phone with Android OS 10 or iOS 13? We are discussing it with few of users who are using just a cell phone camera.

Is there any Esri or 3rd-party app for cell phones which can record a FMV?

the short answer is "nothing that I know of".

If your cell phone can record the necessary metadata listed in http://esriurl.com/fmvFAQ along with the video, you can then process the video and metadata file (CSV text format) in ArcGIS Pro using the Video Multiplexer, but I don't know of anyone that has tried this.

thank you for reply. At least I know for which parameter I should search for. For now, I found that Android can store such information for pictures - https://developer.android.com/training/camera2/Dynamic-depth-v1.0.pdf , but hard do say if it handles for video too. I will dig deeper, and a result will be posted here.

Hi ,
must say no (or at least not yet), I am sorry. Cell phones are great to get Oriented Imagery, moreover in combination with Quick Capture, but I haven´t found that it would be capable of to record video with all necessary metadata - at least my phone.

As I will find a time to it, I would like to make some tests with GoPro, where could be a chance, but cannot guarantee yet.

I will post result there.
