Importing geospatial geofence feature layer to GeoEvent

I want to import a GeoFence to GeoEvent from my Enterprise portal. In my portal, the feature layer contains a polygon layer. This can, according to GeoEvent not be imported as a GeoFence because I cant choose the Poly-layer in the menu for "layer" in GeoEvent.

Error code: "Unable to import GeoFences with current query: please check and try again".

What format does my file need to be? Or what am I doing wrong? I need to get the layer into GeoEvent as a GeoFence.

Any help with instructions how to import a GeoFence to GeoEvent would be appreciated.

Did you make sure to include a query definition on the import screen? If you want to import all features in a layer, use the expression 1=1.
