VS2010 and VS2008

I know that VS2010 is needed to work with ESRI SL 2.0 API. I also know that only VS2008 is supported for ArcGIS mobile development and the Web ADF development can use either VS2010 or VS008. In addition Microsoft has stated that I can install both VS side-by-side.

From an ESRI view can I install VS2010, VS2008, SL 2.0 API, ArcGIS mobile and the Web ADF SDK on the same machine??? Issues? problems? gotchas?

Shouldn't have any issues. You can try install in the following order:

VS2008
.NET 3.5 SP1
ESRI WebADF/SDK/Whatever for VS2008
VS2010
ESRI SL 2.0 SDK

I have 2005 and 2008 installed side by side. So far have no issues with that. And I did 2005 installation after 2008. Also I have noticed that on mobile devices when I choose .net cf 3.5 as target I do not get any controls display in the toolbox for drag-and-drop onto my form. Also, sometimes form just does not want to open in the Designer mode in VS2008 when .net cf 3.5 is the target. I do not know if that is big issue. However, on the device everything get display correctly and seems to work.
