There seems to be about 100 different ways to get your data online, or mobile. And it all seems to depend on what license or what equipment you have. By all means, correct me if I"m wrong here.

I'm looking for the easiest way to be able to edit in the field. Pretty much the only thing I'm trying to edit/create will be addresses or fire hydrant locations. I'm not looking to do anything more complicated than that. Stick a point on the map, label it, come back to the office and sync OR have it sync will i'm in the field. Doesn't matter to me. So, i'll tell you what I have.

I'm running Desktop 10 on my PC.
I'm running Server 10
I have a Windows 7 based tablet pc.
I have a couple iPads/iPhones/Droids

I'm able to connect to the internet while I'm on the road. So I should be able to pull some small amounts of data to whichever device I decide on using.

I've downloaded the ESRI app on the iPad. I can't get it to connect most of the time and when it does, it says my maps aren't valid. So, basically..I'm curious of everyone's real life experience here. Which combo of this crap is going to suit me best for what I'm trying to accomplish?

Thanks for your help!

Jamie

Considering the mobile devices you have on-hand, I believe ArcGIS for Smartphones and Tablets is best suited for your described scenario. I recommend reviewing the information in these links to discover more about our Mobile GIS solutions via ArcGIS Resource Center.

Happy Mobile GIS!
Denise
