In my ArcMap 10 MXD I set up the "Define classes of features and label each class differently" method that excludes one class for showing up its label ("no name" class) in a layer. It works fine in ArcMap, and no feature in the "no name" class is labeled. Then I use the "Get data for ArcPAD" tool.
