Map Service Connection Issues

Hi all

I am not able to connect directly to map services hosted on our server, however, I am able to connect to the service root. For instance I receive "No map services were found at http://myserver/ArcGIS/rest/services/mymapservice/MapServer" but I am able to connect to "http://myserver/ArcGIS/rest/services" then browse to mymapservice and select feature services to add to the map. But, I am not able to add the entire service, only single featue services.

Is this how AcrGIS for Sharepoint is supposed to work? Am I missing something?

What version of ArcGIS Server are you running?

Patrick,
Can you test with the services on sampleserver1.arcgisonline.com and sampleserver3.arcgisonline.com and see if you see the issues you reported? They should be running 10 SP1 and 10 respectively.

You should be able to browser by entering a MapService URL as well as the shortened URLs like http://servername/arcgis/rest/services, http://servername, http://servername/arcgis etc. and also be able to add an entire Map Service to the Map as well as adding individual layers as Feature Layer.
