Do You Need Account to Use SharePoint Web Part

Hi. We are looking at Esri Maps for SharePoint and I have a basic user access question before we get too far. I understand an AGOL subscription is required to license the product, which we have. But, I am wondering if a user needs an AGOL account to use a configured web part? We have 10000+ staff in our organization and who knows how many external users so if an account is required to use a configured web part on a SharePoint page, this solution is not going to work for us.

Yes, Esri Maps for SharePoint is tied to an AGOL or Portal account. Since you are still in the process of investigating whether it may be a viable solution for you, I would recommend discussing it with your Esri Account representative. They would be the best person to help clarify the requirements and terms of use and how it might fit into your organization.
