I installed EM4C 5 ,the configeration page is blank?

HI, I have already install the EM4C 5.0.1, other things ran ok. But when I configer the map ,the page is blank?
I installed the flash player. Is there some version requirement?
Or other browser setting?

Hello lynnew82,

As of version 5.0, Esri Maps for IBM Cognos no longer uses Flash player, so that will not be the cause of the issue.

It might be a good idea to double-check that the url for your ArcGIS Online organization or Portal for ArcGIS is entered correctly in settings.js. I noticed that if the arcgisurl is set incorrectly (for example, with /home at the end of the Portal url), then the configuration page may not load.

Another thing to try is to make sure that you can navigate to the arcgisurl directly in your browser. If your browser shows a security warning when navigating to the url, you will have to confirm the security exception. Once the url is marked as safe/trusted, Esri Maps for IBM Cognos should not have any problems accessing the arcgis url in order to load the map configuration page.

How you managed to launch ESRI Map Designer? Can you please share/confirm virtual directory mapping?
I tried for the same but it is unable to find em4cAdmin.jsp

Hi,flitt!

Thank you for your help. It's very useful. There are two problems to make the configure page blank.
1) I used firfox browser to open the page in a debug mode. I found out the browser met some problems to get the arcgis javacript API resources and other user information from arcgis.com. It may due to the browser network and security setting.
So if anyone who met same problems , you can open the browser debug mode and check the web requests status.

2) With the same methods above, I tried to open the configure page in IE9 ,but failed. So is there some special settings of the IE9?

Another question,: Is it possible to use local arcgis javacript API resources? Because I want the EM4C to connect the Portal in intranet without the www connetion.

Hi Abhishek,

When clicked the "Esri maps Designer" in cognos connetion page, the request url is like this:
"http://localhost/ibmcognos/em4c/cgi-bin/em4c.cgi?/em4c/admin/em4cAdmin.jsp?locale=zh-cn&...."

Please check the installation document again ,if you have the wrong virtual directory.
