Hey Raaj! Thanks for the quick reply.

1. Were the links showing up in the popup before the 2025.3 release?

Yes - But I had the "Add document URLs" enabled then and I think I was playing with a hosted FS.

2. Are you tagging documents to a hosted feature layer where you have "edit" permissions?

No - I'm attempting to use a registered Feature Service from our Enterprise. Yes - I have edit permissions.

3. Could you also check if the toggle switch for "Add document URLs" is enabled or turned on?

No - I did not have it enabled. I'm hoping I don't have to have it enabled for the program to retrieve geotagged documents.

In a perfect world, ArcGIS will search SharePoint for the document tags instead of opening a URL embedded as an attribute in the Feature Service. It is common for my company to change things; we go through a small reorganization about every 5 years, and this includes changing Department names. This affects any permanent link created to a document. I'm trying to build a tool that will allow staff to retrieve documents from a map instead of "researching" our document libraries or file structures. I also can't justify deploying this tool if in 5 years all the links will be broken.

Is this possible?

Thank you for everything you do Raaj!

We’ve been testing ArcGIS for SharePoint to access documents from a map using geotags, either by keywords or coordinates. After deploying the latest release, version 2025.3.0, we noticed that the pop-up feature no longer displays the geotagged SharePoint items. The SharePoint document correctly recognizes the geotag in the Enterprise Keywords field, so why isn’t the pop-up showing the corresponding SharePoint item? Do I need to modify the SharePoint Term Store after installing the newest release?

Hello @BradHarshman --

Thanks for your response and your kind words. I really appreciate it!

The "Save links to ArcGIS" can only work with hosted feature layers or hosted feature services. SharePoint needs to communicate with ArcGIS in order to create a column to store the geotagged document links and hence this feature (Save links to ArcGIS) can only work with hosted feature layers or services.

I would like to understand a bit more about your workflows/use cases so that I can recommend alternative solutions. You can either send me all the information via a private message through Esri Community or I can schedule a meeting, whichever works for you.

Please let me know.

Thanks & Regards,

Raaj
