Esri Maps for SharePoint install error

Has anyone come across the following error when deploying the Esri Maps for SharePoint 3.0.1 solution to SharePoint:

WATD-SPWEB : http://watd-spapp/ : SharePoint - 79 : Error: The web.config is invalid on this IIS Web Site: C:\inetpub\wwwroot\wss\VirtualDirectories\90\web.config.

WATD-SPAPP : http://watd-spapp/ : The solution was successfully deployed.

***** ERROR *****

ESRI.ArcGIS.Mapping.SharePoint.Installer.InstallException: WATD-SPWEB : http://watd-spapp/ : SharePoint - 79 : Error: The web.config is invalid on this IIS Web Site: C:\inetpub\wwwroot\wss\VirtualDirectories\90\web.config.

WATD-SPAPP : http://watd-spapp/ : The solution was successfully deployed.

Any ideas? All pre-requisites have been met and checked.

Hello Andy,

The errors you are providing above seem to be indicating a possible issue with the SharePoint site itself more than with our Plugin. Please refer to the following Microsoft Document:

Deployment error "The web.config is invalid on this IIS Web Site"

I believe working with your SharePoint Admin on this issue might be more beneficial. Please let us know if there is anything more we can help with. Thanks-
