Hi Frances,
Thanks for the response. Your solution completed the final piece of puzzle and now my esri designer is working as expected. I have another issue now. Whenever i want to run a esri enabled report, the report asks for my ArcGis credentials. I created organization level credentials with ArcGis and currently use that whenever I run this report. However if some1 else also runs this report then the report asks for his ArcGis credentials. Now we cannot prepare hundreds of ArcGis credentials for everyone in organization nor can I go from person to person and enter my credentials whenever any1 tries to execute this esri enabled report. Is there a way to automatically pass some fixed AD account ArcGis credentials to the url of this report or some setting change in Vantage server configuration page?

Thanks
Jag

Hi,
I recently installed Cognos 10.2.1 with fixpack1 on our servers. After installing cognos I installed with 10.2 version of ESRI using the 10.2 batch file provided in the installation folder. After installing ESRI whenever I try to prepare even a barebones ESRI enabled report in cognos that has even a single data item, I received a "No Grammar for URI:" error message at the designer window and can proceed no further. Please provide a solution. Time critical issue.

Thanks,
Jag

Hello Jag,

Esri Maps for IBM Cognos supports Cognos 10.2.1 only as of the most recent release, version 5.0.1. I'm not sure which version of Esri Maps for IBM Cognos you are installing, but this may be part of the issue that you are running into.

In order to use Esri Maps for IBM Cognos 5.0.1 with Cognos 10.2.1 Fix Pack 1, there are a few additional steps necessary to make Esri Maps compatible with the fix pack. When installing Esri Maps for IBM Cognos 5.0.1, select the option to install for IBM Cognos 10.2.1. After the installation and configuration is complete, you must replace a file on the EM4C Server in order to match the report specification version that is used by Cognos 10.2.1 Fix Pack 1. The instructions, as well as the revised file, are available in this knowledge base article: http://support.esri.com/en/knowledgebase/techarticles/detail/41743

Hope that helps,
Frances
