Add a hosted table as a reference layer

I have loaded an excel table of points into Power BI and see them in the visualization. I also have a hosted table in ArcGIS Online that I would like to join to my points using the new Join Layer functionality.

Although it comes up in a search result, I can't seem to add the hosted table to the map as a reference layer. Is it possible to add a stand-alone hosted table from ArcGIS Online?

Hey David,

At this time, adding standalone tables is not supported via the ArcGIS for PowerBI Visual. You may be able to add the table directly through PowerBI REST, but this presents some issues: specifically if the table is secured, then you have to refresh the token every two weeks. If the table is non-secured, this issue will not present itself.
