topic Field Maps Location Profile in ArcGIS Field Maps Questions

We use field maps with an external GPS receiver that utilizes an RTK service. A location profile is assigned to ensure the coordinates are transformed properly in Field Maps. This works great... when our field staff remember to do this. Ideally, there would be a way to set/enforce the location profile in Field Maps designer by the creator of the map but I know this is not currently doable.

So my question is, is it possible to use Arcade to pull the location profile name from the users profile and add it to a field in the collection dataset?

I do not have an answer to your question I am sorry. But I do have some questions.

I am questioning if my setup is correct or if I need to change some things.

-Our GPS Receiver is collecting in Nad83Ohio State Plane South etc.

-Our Field Maps basemap is Web Mercator

-Our Layers are Nad83Ohio State Plane South etc.

-In field maps the location profile is set to Web Mercator.

So, with this setup, my understanding is the GPS receiver is using the state plane projection but is transforming the data to collect in Web Mercator?? When collecting the data, it receives it as Web Mercator x, y and z.

I can't stop thinking about if the layers should actually be projected in Web Mercator since the data its collecting is in Web Mercator. Or if I am wrong and it is projecting on the fly in some fashion.

I confuse myself every time I think about this.

Your thoughts, what is the ideal setup??
