Cannot Enter Default Value in Field Maps Smart Form

I have a hosted feature layer in AGOL. I am the administrator and owner of the data. I want to enter a default value in a field, but the Default value box will not let me enter anything into it; when I hover over with my mouse cursor I get the red circle with a line through the middle of it. What needs to be done so a default value can be entered when creating a smart form?

@TimHayes2021 For existing fields, the default value needs to be set on the Templates tab.

I found the answer, to use Smart Forms the data for the field maps app must be hosted in Portal or AGOL.
