Field Maps Offline: Edited Web Map Features Disappear After Sync

Hello everyone,

I am experiencing an issue with an offline map in ArcGIS Field Maps and a web map hosted in ArcGIS Online.

The map was downloaded for offline use in Field Maps, and the layer is a Hosted Feature Layer with Sync enabled. After downloading the offline area, I made edits to some features directly in the web map through ArcGIS Online.

However, after performing a synchronization (Sync) in Field Maps, the edits made in the web map do not appear in the offline map.

Additionally, the features that were edited in the web map disappear from the offline map after synchronization, even though they still exist in the hosted layer.

Environment:

Platform: ArcGIS Online
App: ArcGIS Field Maps
Workflow: Offline map with Sync enabled

Has anyone experienced a similar issue or knows what might be causing this behavior?

Are you using the latest version of Field Maps?

Is the workflow replicable if you create a brand new hosted feature layer and a new web map?

Hi Glen,
I tested creating a brand new web map with a new hosted feature layer, and the offline sync worked correctly — the edits appeared as expected.
This shows that the issue is specific to the current web map I’m using, as the same problem does not occur with a new map.
Could you explain what might be causing this issue and what the correct solutions are to address it?

Hi @KhamisBaroud,

Do you get anything on the Field Maps application logs?

Do you have the "TrueCurve", Allow update of true curves option turned on, on the Hosted Feature Layer?

Are you using the latest version of Field Maps?

Are you able to extract the Hosted Feature Layer that is being used on the current Web Map and publish it as a New Hosted Feature layer and attempt to make edits and sync?

Are you using a Hosted Feature Layer View with a filter? Are you editing fields that are used to filter the features?

By default ArcGIS Online Hosted Feature Layer Views won't sync features outside the filter which can lead to some unspected behavior when edits move the features in or out of the offline layer.
