Autofill fields in subsequent record based on previous record?

My field crews need to be able autofill a field in subsequent record based what was entered for that field in the previous record? A version of this question was answered in the negative. "Autofill some fields in subsequent record based on first record?"

Recent values won't work because I do not have a domain to draw from. It is not practical to create one.

This appears to be a common capability with other non-ESRI field data collection apps. I have been searching for an answer to this with no luck other than the response referenced above.

I imagine there is an Arcade script that I am just not finding.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.
