idea Conditional Attribute Rules and Dynamic Alerting in Field Maps for Hydraulic/Utility Infrastructure in ArcGIS Field Maps Ideas

Currently, when field crews collect infrastructure data (such as water pressure or valve statuses) using ArcGIS Fiel Maps, Attribute expressions (Arcade) can restrict or calculate values, but they lack a native, high-visibility operational warning system for extreme values before the data is submitted to the Enterprise enviroment.

In water utility management, if a field technician records a hydraulic pressure that falls into a critical range (e.g. below 15 psi or above 100 psi). they need immediate,real-time visual feedback on the device screen (like a dynamic pop-up or high-visibility color change) to confirm if it´s an operational emergency or a simple typing error.

Proposed Feature / Enhancement:

We propose adding an enhanced dynamic alerting and Validation Layer inside the ArcGIS Field Maps designer:

1- Visual Threshold Alerts: Allow GIS administrators to configure smart forms that trigger instant on-screen alerts (Yellow/Red banners) based on conditional criteria during manual data entry (e.g., if pressure_ operational_minimum).

2- Inmediate Field Verification: Force a confirmation prompt if an anomaly is detected, ensuring data integrity before syncing to ArcGIS Enterprise/Utlility Network, rather than waiting for post-processing topologic or attribute validation at the office level.

Use Case / Business Value.

* Improves Data Integrity: Prevents human error (typos) from polluting the corporate geotadabase in real time.

* Operational Agility: Empowers fied crews to immediately recognize a critical asset status (like extreme low pressure or a closed critical valve) right when they are standing next to it, allowing for instant local remediation.

* Reduces Data Redundancy: Less time spent by GIS Administrators cleaning up false anomaly alerts back in the office.
