Remove special effects from date picker

Please remove the special effects associated with the date picker in Collector/Field Maps.

I have been notified by field staff that it's too easy to touch the iPad again and whilst the date picker is in the process of changing to 'today' it can stop on the wrong day, month or year if the iPad is touched with either the stylus or a finger.

This means the field worker has to change the date to 'today' multiple times if they continue to touch the ipad and have noticed the wrong year or it means incorrect data capture, neither of these are good things.

This is very frustrating out in the field. I often have to tap two or three times to get the correct date. It would be preferable if it just immediately went to the correct date when you tap 'today'.
