topic Syncing Data in ArcGIS Explorer Questions

In Collector there's a syncing button with maps downloaded offline. Is this feature available in Explorer with the .mmpks? If not, is it planned to be included/when? Looking for simplest workflow to ensure users have latest data hosted in AGOL/Enterprise downloaded to their phones for offline capability.

Thank you!

Eric,

While Explorer is not an editing app like Collector, so there will never be modified content on the device to sync back with the server, downloaded content such as Mobile Map Packages, can change on the server and there is a way to check for updates and download the latest version of that content in the app.

This can be achieved by tapping the overflow button on the downloaded map and selecting "Check for Updates" in the action sheet that is displayed (see attached image).

Explorer will also check at various points, when it has access to the server (read: when you are online), to see if the downloaded content can be updated. If an update is available, Explorer notifies the end user that updates are available, however it will always be the end users responsibility to initiate the download.
