    <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;P&gt;After installing (and uninstalling and reinstalling) and trying to run the ArcGIS Explorer Desktop software several times and getting the error message "ArcGIS Explorer has encountered a serious application error and is unable to continue." every time.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;At first I though it was because the application is 32 bit and my OS - Windows 7 - is 64 bit.&amp;nbsp; But I noticed in another post a response that said that should not be a problem.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;So at this point I am out of ideas.&amp;nbsp; Any suggestions would be welcome.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Thanks.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Actually I "think" I may have found a possible answer.&amp;nbsp; What do you think?&amp;nbsp; I just went to reboot the machine because I had not done that yet and saw there were 107 updates waiting to be installed!&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Message was edited by: Cathy Raney&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>
