Presentations not working in Firefox 4

I installed Firefox 4 a couple of days ago. It seems like presentations don't run in it. When I click the Start Presentation button, nothing happens. I can click through the slides on the bottom, but not play presentations.

Hi,
Running presentations in Firefox 4 works for me on Windows 7. What operating system are you running? Can you share your map so I can try it?

Mike, Avinash, thanks -- try the map "Los Angeles Park Test" which is now shared publicly. My OS is Windows XP Professional version 2002 SP 3.

Hi Tim,

Okay, I saw the problem now. When the presentation starts in FireFox 4, the screen seems to go pitch black. I minimised the browser window and saw the presentation running in fullscreen in the background. The presentation runs right thereafter with auto-advance and everything. Good catch of the bug though.

I tested it in Microsoft Internet Explorer and Chrome and it runs fine there.

yes, that seems to be the result if you click Yes on the Silverlight prompt to stay in full-screen mode. If you click No on the prompt, the presentation doesn't seem to launch at all.

I'm afraid I still can't reproduce the issue using your map. I've tested on my windows 7 and my XP machnie (2002, sp3) and do not see the screen go 'pitch black'. The presentation runs as expected.

The only difference I can think of is the Silverlight warning you get to run in full screen mode - I'd checked on the don't show again at some point in the past, so didn't see this dialog.

Yes I am - 4.0.1

But i do see what we are talking about here. I don't think the browser window going black while running in full screen mode is a bug. I think this happens when Silverlight runs in full screen mode. IE, Chrome and Firefox all do the same thing.

When i run a presentation in Firefox, it immediately switches to full screen mode. I don't even see the black screen (and then will only see it if i Alt+Tab out of it)

Excellent - your screen capture was just what we needed to reproduce the issue.

In my case I was not seeing the 'Do you want to allow this website to run in full screen mode' dialog because I had previously checked on the 'Remember my answer' checkbox. If this is not checked on I see the issue, but once checked the problem disappears. I think in most cases this will provide a good workaround, but I will also enter a bug report for this issue

thanks you guys & please see again my post on this from 5/6 -- if you have not got rid of the "run in full screen mode" dialog & click NO on the prompt rather than YES the presentation will not start at all. so the problem really has two aspects. I haven't tested what happens if you click NO on the prompt & then remember that answer -- but that needs to be tested.

The 'No' scenario is actually just part of the same problem, it's the appearance of this dialog that causes the issue in Firefox. If you check on 'Remember my answer' then click 'No' presentations will run correctly the second time and thereafter.
