display only one basemap in explorer online?

Is is possible to have explorer online display only one basemap option. I am a high school teacher and my students are using "explorer". I want to not give the public viewer the option to change basemaps. any solutions????-Thanks

It is not possible to diable the basemap selection menu.

If you have your students start with a map that you create for them then you might be able to achieve what you're after.

The default basemaps all use Web Mercator Auxiliary Sphere as their spatial reference (102100). If you create a map with a 'custom' basemap and that service does not use the default spatial reference, then the basemap gallery will be disabled.
