Commands on toolbar greyed out

Hello,

ArcMap has been working good, but today I opened a mxd, did some point editing and "select by rectangle" and the "deselect" buttons on the standard "Tools" toolbar are not working. The commands don't work on any other mxd I opened.

Hello,

After posting this thread I clicked on Customize/Customize Mode/clicked on Toolbars tab, highlighted 'Tools' then clicked on Reset, then answered yes. I am not sure what caused these particular commands to greyed out, but following these steps fixed the issue.

This happening to me too. It's the ArcPad Data Manager toolbar that is grayed out. I followed your steps to reset in the Customize/Customize Mode page. I hit reset & the tools appeared available. But when I close the window they are grayed out again. Any more ideas on this?
