New user having trouble exporting attribute table to excel. The FID field and shape field will not export. Is there a reason for this? Can these fields be exported the way they are? Any help with this issue would be appreciated.

Hi,

Are you sure you have posted this question in the correct forum? Using out-of-the-box ArcGIS Explorer you cannot export an attribute table to Excel.

I just tried this in ArcMap and i exported an attribute table as a text file and the FID field was exported as well. The Shape field was not, but then i would not expect it to be, since this field contains the geometries. If your data is of points and you want to export the X,Y locations then you could add two fields and poulate them with the X & Y's then export the data.
