Hi Peter,

if you have a valid custom address locator service, you should get a green check mark in ArcGIS Explorer Application Configuration. There is something wrong with the path, I guess.

That said we've identified the issue that custom address locators are not working correctly in 1200 from Find window, and will have a fix for it in 1500.

Meantime, I'd like to ask you to share link to your custom address locator service, if it is a public one, so I can test ArcGIS Explorer against it?

Is there something special about the custom address locator service in 1200?

Because our address locator doesn't appear to work... Validate Services gives it a cross.

Is that because we've got the wrong fields? There doesn't seem to any doco on what they should be.

Not being in the US means we can't use the standard one.

I was wondering if you ever got this resolved or figured it out?

I have created a few custom locators specific to our requirements and I cannot find an easy way to add them as a GIS Service or Analysis Tool?? Like you I can find no documentation on adding your own locators to AGX 1200. I wonder if the only option is to build a custom Add-in?

Thanks

Dave

No. We currently have an open support request on why the address search from ESRI doesn't work through our proxy firewall. Using a funny port??

I'm guess why our local address gecoder doesn't work is that it doesn't have exactly the same fields as needed.

No doco on what is the requirements.
