Well that could be projection issues. If you start with a blank map, ArcMap will use the spatial reference of the first dataset you give it. In AGX the spatial reference is WGS84 by default.

Hi,

we had created a mosaic dataset of our orthophoto database (around 2600 photos). This works fine in ArcMap. To use it in ArcGIS Explorer Desktop we saved it as a ArcGIS layer file and load it into a ArcGIS Explorer Map. While zooming in to a scale around 1:2000 it jumps 150m in north-est direction. Zooming further to 1:500 the orthophotos are displayed on the correct place again.
Any sugesstions?

Best regards

Carsten

When zoomed out you'll be utilizing the overviews and pyramids. As you zoom in farther, you'll start seeing the individual orthos.

Since they look fine when zoomed out, I suggest regenerating your overviews and depending on your setup possibly pyramids too.

Right click on the mosaic dataset->Build Overviews. Expand the Overview Generation Options and uncheck both Generate Missing Overview Images Only and Regenerate Stale Overview Images Only.

Hi,
the question is why the mosaic dataset is displayed correctly in ArcMap/ArcCatalog?
In ArcMap there are no jumps between ~1:2000 and ~1:500? It is only in ArcGIS Explorer Desktop.

best regards

Carsten
