    <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;I don't think this is possible, but I can't find any documentation that specifically says that it cannot do this. &lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;A href="http://forums.arcgis.com/threads/25844-How-to-join-2010-Census-data-to-shapefiles-in-ArcGIS-Explorer-Desktop?highlight=join"&gt;This thread &lt;/A&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;discusses this and it seems like the general consensus is that you can't do this in Explorer Desktop, as it is just a free application. However, as Cody suggests at the end, you might be able to use the ArcGIS Explorer SDK to make some tools that would do this.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;It's been many years since i used GIS.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;I have previous experience using Arcview 3.2.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;I remember calling up the table behind say a census tract shapefile and joining it to a dbf file containing other data.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Is there a way to join dbf tables using ArcGIS Explorer Desktop?&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Thanks&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>
