Sharing Maps and Data Locally

I have created a map for a client with my local content including geotiffs, basemap, DEM, file geodatabase features and a few layer packages. My client would like to install Explorer then use my map and data in it at his office. We don't have server and his internet is low bandwidth, he just wants to see the data i created for him on his local machine, and he doesn't have ArcGIS. Is it possible to save everything to a cd, dvd or on his local hard drive for him to view it the same way I can?

Hi,

The simple answer is yes he can.

Explorer will start even if there is no internet connection (you obviously won't see an ESRI basemap though) or a poor internet connection. Local data can then be added using the Add Content button. One suggestion to make his life easier - you could create an nmf which has all the local data of interest loaded, send it to him and get him to unzip the data into the appropriate folder? Then all he has to do is open the map. If you know that the internet connection will be really bad, you could also remove the references to the ESRI basemap (Basemap > clear basemap) from the map.

Thanks Mike,
We gave it a try and it works great. I created a file gdb with all my features and rasters under one folder and saved the map within it, put it on a flash drive then opened the map on the client computer and there were no issues. Thanks for your help.
