Navigating point to point -- zooms in too close

I'm using Explorer in 2D view mode with World Imagery basemap. When I navigate to a new point by clicking on that point in the TOC, it zooms in way too close. How can I set the zoom level or destination-view altitude to something appropriate for a basemap at this resolution?

Don,

It's not possible to override the default viewpoint for new content - but once you have added some content to the map (Note, Layer, etc) you can update the viewpoint.

1. Add the content
2. Navigate to the desired viewpoint
3. Right click the content in ther Contents window > Properties > click Set Default Viewpoint
