Hi all,

Got an update from ESRI.

Apparently, ESRI now has licensing restrictions with Bing, so that they can only use their own geocoding and geotagging services. Therefore, a major capability of ArcGIS explorer is missing for countries such as Australia. Thanks for letting us know ESRI!

Therefore, check carefully before installing 1700 if you dont live in the United States, or other privileged countries, and you want this capability present.

Nick

I noticed that whilst the find, route and direction functions work fine in build 1500, it doesnt work in build 1700 - well at least so in Australia. i know we are quite of small in relation to other countries, it would be nice that these functions were tested in Australia before release. We now have to roll back to the earlier version.

Nick
