AGX will load each separate layer file as long as that data is stored externally and the layer file is created with the Internet/network connection off. I have built .lpk's with Feature Classes in Arc 10.1. All the data, paths and the lpk are on a flash drive. When trying to load into Explorer off of the network, I get an "invalid file" message. It loads fine when on the network.
