Spatial query, attribute table

I am a GIS Analyst, but I'm new to ArcGIS Explorer desktop (Online isn't an option, sorry). I was asked to develop an inexpensive tool (ie FREE) whereby managers can find all employees home addresses within x distance of a job site. The deliverable needs to be a table of employee names.

I'd rather they just ask me to return a table to them via the usual GIS black magic, but they want to be able to have the information tool readily available to managers.

I looked at "Spatial Query" and created a layer package, but the resulting attribute table just has "Popup" and "Visible" instead of usable data.

Long request short, is there any way of returning a resonably usable table of attributes in a text, dbf etc.?

The result of a spatial query is an Explorer note. An Explorer note only has a "popup window" to store the information. When you choose create layer package, the "note" is converted to a package, and all of the attribute information is 'stuffed' into one column. There isn't an out of the box solution to give you exactly what you want using a spatial query.
