I have a layer that I developed in 3D Analyst that I want to portray in ArcGIS Explorer. The layer floats in ArcGIS Explorer, which is fine. The layer has a slope and rises at a rate of 20:1. Is there a way to determine the elevation of the floating layer in a specific spot?

No. There is no functionality in ArcGIS Explorer to get the Z value of geometry from a feature.

If the Z value was an attribute of a feature, you could see it in a popup, but that would require converting the vertices of your line to points, and attributing the points.

We are considering "Z measure" for a future release.

Mark
