topic Application Configurations in ArcGIS Explorer Desktop Questions

I have a two part question. First, I'm having a problem getting consistent functionality from the application configurations. I've built several, and when I preview them in the Manager, they're fine. But, when I browse to the actual ncfg file location and launch from there, all I'm getting is the default Explorer configuration, no custom settings.

Second, I don't understand what the "Use your own map" setting does in the Application Configuration Manager. If I select the radio button and then browse to the map I want to use, it is ignored when I run the configuration file. I just get the default Explorer world map. I do see my custom map if I select to "Always open this map," but I'm curious what I'm supposed to be seeing when that check box isn't selected.

I had some issues with this as well the work around that I have found was everytime you save the map its needs to be reconfigured in the NCFG, I think what happens is after the NCFG is loaded and the Use my own map is loaded, that map is then set to the My Default map, ... I know its annoying. hope that helps a little
