SDE Feature Class Not Displaying

I'm stumped. In the same GDB, we have two feature classes that are almost identical. Both contain point features, are not versioned, and have the same permissions. However, one loads fine in AGX while the other does nothing. The latter does not give any error. It simply displays the normal "Adding Geodatabase Data..." window for a second and then does nothing (no crash, no performance degradation).

Interestingly, if I create a lyr from the feature class in ArcCatalog, AGX will load the lyr just fine.

Also interesting: These two feature classes are production copies from our development GDB. The originals in the Dev GDB work fine in AGX as well. Overwriting the production Feature Class with a new copy from the Dev GDB does not fix the issue. (FYI: the copy process just deletes the production feature class and then copies the development feature class--nothing complicated).

Any thoughts?
