Find Function and Base Maps

Hi,

So as stated in another thread (don't want to hijack it anymore) I'm having some issues with find function and accessing the base maps.

When I click the link in this comment, nothing is blocked.

ArcGIS Explorer 2500 uses the "geocode.arcgis.com" service.

This URL is the search for "redlands"

http://geocode.arcgis.com/arcgis/rest/services/World/GeocodeServer/findAddressCandidates?Address=redlands&SingleLine=&outFields=xmin,xmax,ymin,ymax&outSR=&searchExtent=&f=json

Does it return the JSON when you click the link?

Could there be something on your network that is blocking access to this service?

Its obvious that something is getting blocked on my end, I'm curious how above link returns the search for "redlands" correctly, but using the function in the software doesn't work.

Could anyone provide any details as to why this is happening or what could be getting blocked? I'm trying to gather as much info as possible before I look for help internally, because I don't always get a lot of help internally.

ArcGIS Explorer desktop makes a soap request, instead of rest ('rest' omitted from URL), maybe that has something to do with it, from a blocking perspective?
