Pasting Text into Experience Builder

Is there a proper way to paste text into an Experience Builder (EB) textbox? When I try to paste text from PowerPoint or Word, the formatting is very odd, with apparently random line breaks. Pasting from a plain text file appears to work correctly.

Understandably, it may be difficult to parse formatting from another program. The default behavior then should be to paste as plain text. But even when I remove the formatting in EB, via the "Clear all formatting" option, it's not removing the extra line breaks.

See the attached image. The top text was copied from Word, and has random line breaks. The bottom was copied from a plain text editor, and it can be resized at will, with the text following logical breaks.
