We're making an Experience Builder app that has an imbedded Web Map Viewer (the new version). We're interested in if there's a way to force (a) the controls on the left to be collapsed, and (b) default to opening the Layers viewer. As it is, different users have different defaults, e.g., the legend will be open by default.

I don't know that this is possible, as the behavior of the Map Viewer depends upon the signed-in user and cached settings.

Is there a reason not to simply use the widgets in Experience Builder?

Thanks for the quick reply. For now, it's imperative that the user is able to add their own data (in a similar way to how web maps do it) to the map that's being presented. For now, we're going to imbed the web map viewer and revisit the use of the widgets when the feature's added.
