Get coded domain for custom widget

I have a custom widget that filters values using a drop-down menu. I'm populating the values for the drop-down menu using the DataSoure interface from jimu-core. However, my data has coded value domains that I need to fetch, but can't find a way to do so with the DataSource interface.

Is there a reason you are using DataSource interface instead of an ArcGIS feature service?

I'm not very experienced, and most of the examples of creating custom widgets on experience builder work with using the data source interface from jimu-core. To my understanding it helps making sure the data sources (ej. queries) are syncronized across the different widgets.

I'm assuming that since you are using the Experience Builder web app, you have an ArcGIS Online account with license? The GIS data you are serving... is it published as a service?
