Select widget cannot connect to Analysis widget?

Ok I have been struggling with this for way too long.

On the Select widget I go to set a Data Action and it lists everything but my tools from the Analysis widget. Elevation is there but that is it. Why not?

Second if I make a selection first then set that layer as Input to my Analysis widget tool it totally ignores the selection.

Same deal with the table widget - totally ignores selection.

And no message action from table widget to the Analysis widget at all.

Also same deal with the Select inside the map widget itself. And again no Message action to my widget.

So how do we actually use the Analysis widget with a selection? I know we talked to the team a year ago on this and I thought we got some of these to work but not now. I know one of these got listed as a bug. In Pro all tools respect selections and that is how it should probably work here. Tools almost never run on entire datasets.

The only way I can get any selection to work is to use Set as Analysis input. But this is confusing to the user because after you pick Set as Analysis input nothing happens. You would think it would open to that widget and tool I just picked to input to. So then the user has to go find the right widget in the sidebar.

Thanks for any tips here? Been stuck on it for a bit now. We had this working ok in WAB.

Seems like it cannot be done? I hope this gets fixed soon it is a rather confusing workflow now. I think every other product from ArcMap to WAB has respected selections so I hope we can get this to match. thanks a lot!

Trying a bump at 4 months now. Still hoping we get more ExB staff on the boards here. We got a big rollout coming with WAB going away so we need to be able to use our tools. Thanks a lot @AlixVezina @Jianxia

@LoganPhoenix We found that if you use the 4 dot button in the Select widget next to the layer name then do Set as Analysis input it does work. Totally confuses the users of course (and is different than every other Arc product) but it is a workaround.

Pretty much everywhere you must always use Set as Analysis to get it to work (table widget, query, etc).

Currently selection only work through "Set as Analysis input" data action after you make selection at other widgets. We are working on supporting select tools at the analysis UI. Thank you.

You can use the table selection to Analysis widget through Data action - Set as Analysis input as well.

Great to see we are able to use attribute table selection and set as analysis input for web tool embedded in analysis widget. Would be nice if analysis widget could have a message action for a trigger when webtool is complete, to open a widget side panel with an embedded attribute table. Also there is a bug when webtool outputs feature set to map. Works in map viewer but not in EXB.
